Az előadásokat az ELFT 2002-ben elhunyt egykori elnöke tiszteletére az ELTE Fizikai Intézete és az ELFT közösen rendezi, minden év májusában, a Marx György születésnapjához (május 25.) legközelebbi csütörtökön, az általa alapított Ortvay-kollokviumi előadássorozat keretében. Az emlékülés előadóját az ELFT elnöke kéri fel a neutrínófizika nemzetközileg legkiemelkedőbb művelői közül. Az előadó megkapja a Társulat “Marx György emlékérmét”, amelynek hátoldalára vésik az előadó nevét, az előadás évét és a “George Marx Memorial Lecturer” szöveget.
